By state

The number of clinicians with a practice location in each state who have a procedure count published by CMS, counting every procedure on the site. A clinician published in more than one procedure is counted once here and once in each of that state's procedure lists, and a clinician practising in more than one state is counted in each.

By city

The 60 largest of 4,561 cities with a page, chosen by number of clinicians and listed alphabetically. Every other city is listed on its state page above.

Understanding CMS Data

These figures are based on procedures billed to Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage as reported by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in their August 18, 2026 data release. The CMS data doesn't include procedures performed for patients who have other health care coverage (e.g., commercially insured, self pay, or VA). Billing variation and coding errors could potentially affect CMS's data. Therefore, the volume data reported by CMS may be higher or lower than the actual total procedures performed by a clinician. Each procedure section explains which billing codes CMS counts in that category.
